How much do repairs cost?

Estimates are free, and there is no obligation.

We charge a $60/hour shop rate for all repairs, and include some standard materials in that cost (pads, corks, springs, etc). Nationally, you will see woodwind shops charging anywhere from $50 to $85 per hour. We do not have a minimum amount, and repairs that take less than one hour will be charged accordingly. For more information, see your specific instrument: flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon.

Who will actually do the work my instrument?

We perform all repairs, including cleaning and preparatory work, in-house. You will be advised if any repairs will be sent out to a specialist (plating, etc.) Read about us for more information about our training and experience.

How long will it take?

That depends on what kind of instrument you have and what work is going to be done. A complete annual service (clean/oil/adjust) for a smaller instrument will take one to four days, large instruments a couple days extra. An overhaul will take one to three weeks. Some basic adjustments can be done while-you-wait. You will be advised at the time of estimate.
